This Privacy Policy applies to motiscape distributed through the Apple App Store. It explains how we process information when providing wallpaper importing, management, playback, and related settings, and how you can manage that information.

1. Information We Process

motiscape primarily processes information locally. You do not need to register a motiscape account to use basic wallpaper features. We do not integrate advertising tracking or third-party user behavior analytics services into the app, sell your personal information, or automatically send your wallpapers, usage records, or diagnostic logs to the developer through built-in telemetry or log-upload services.

Local Files and Settings

To import, organize, and play the wallpapers you select, the app reads the relevant files and necessary file information, such as file names, paths, formats, sizes, and modification times. It stores wallpaper copies, thumbnails, caches, playlists, favorites, import records, and preferences on your device.

This information is used to display and play wallpapers, restore settings, improve loading speed, and handle import failures or recovery operations. The app does not initiate uploads of your local wallpaper library to the developer.

Device and Runtime Status

To adapt the display and manage resource consumption, the app locally processes display configurations, resolutions, power and sleep status, and application and window states relevant to automatic pausing or muting. When interactive effects are enabled, wallpaper programs may also receive the mouse position and related interaction events. This information is used for multi-display output, wallpaper interaction, and playback control, not for advertising profiling.

System Audio

When you use audio-responsive wallpapers and grant the required system permission, the app processes audio playing on your system in real time to generate spectrum data and other data that drive visual effects. This feature processes system audio and is not intended to record microphone input.

Raw audio is processed in your device's memory. The app does not save it as audio recordings or upload it to the developer. The resulting spectrum data is provided to the current wallpaper program. See Section 2 for information about data access by web wallpapers.

You can revoke the relevant permission in macOS System Settings. Denying or revoking permission affects audio-responsive effects but does not affect basic wallpaper features that do not rely on that permission.

2. Web Wallpapers and Network Access

Local content, such as videos and images, can generally be played without network access. Web wallpapers you import may contain scripts and request online images, fonts, or other network content according to their design.

These requests provide the relevant service providers with information needed to establish a connection, such as your IP address, request contents, and basic browser information. Web wallpapers may also access wallpaper properties, interaction events, and spectrum data supplied when audio response is enabled through their runtime environment, and transmit information through their own network requests.

Web wallpapers and the websites they connect to are provided by their respective authors or service providers. Their independent data processing activities are subject to their own privacy notices. Please choose content from trusted sources according to your preferences. Stopping or removing a web wallpaper can stop it from running and making further requests. We remain responsible for motiscape's own data processing activities.

3. Diagnostic Logs and Voluntary Feedback

The app generates diagnostic logs on your device to help troubleshoot importing, rendering, and playback issues. Logs may include timestamps, app runtime status, error messages, device configurations, and relevant file names or paths.

The app does not automatically upload logs to the developer. You can choose to export logs and decide whether to send them by email or other means. Before sending them, please review and remove any information you do not wish to share.

If you contact us at [email protected], we receive your email address, message contents, and any attachments you voluntarily provide. This information is used only to respond to requests, troubleshoot issues, and provide support. Email transmission and storage also involve data processing by the relevant email service providers.

4. Information Retention and Deletion

Wallpapers, settings, playlists, and related records are primarily stored on your device and are retained or deleted according to your actions. Temporary caches may be cleared by the app or the system. At startup, the app attempts to delete local session log files whose modification times are more than seven days old. Files you separately export or save are managed by you and are not automatically deleted when session logs are cleaned up.

You can manage local data using the app's management features and macOS file management tools. Removing an item from a list does not necessarily delete its original files. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily remove external files, backups, or all settings. Before deleting anything, please check the file location and retain any backups you need. You can contact us for help with cleanup.

Support information you voluntarily submit is retained only while needed to handle your request and necessary follow-up communications. When it is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it, except where retention is required by law. You may also request deletion by contacting us at our email address.

5. Information Sharing and Security

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes. Except for the network access and feedback you voluntarily send as described in this policy, and circumstances where processing is required by law, we do not proactively provide your personal information to other parties.

The app uses the permission and file access mechanisms provided by macOS to process data within the scope needed for its features. We take reasonable measures to minimize unnecessary information processing and protect support materials we receive. However, no method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You can choose which files to import, which wallpapers to use, and whether to enable audio response. You can manage system permissions in macOS System Settings, stop using relevant features, manage local files, and decide whether to send us feedback and logs.

For personal information you voluntarily provide to us, you may contact us by email to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, or to exercise other rights under applicable law. We will verify your identity only to the minimum extent necessary to validate your request and handle it as required by applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

7. Minors

motiscape is not intended to collect personal information from minors. If you are a minor, please use the app under the guidance of a parent or guardian and avoid including unnecessary personal information in feedback. Parents or guardians who believe we have received a minor's personal information that should not be retained may contact us to request appropriate action.

8. Policy Updates and Contact

We may update this policy as our features or data processing practices change and will update the date at the top of this document. For changes that materially affect your rights and interests, we will notify you through an in-app notice or another appropriate means and obtain separate consent where required by law.

If you have questions about this policy or the processing of personal information, please contact:
